We were happy to see an end to 2005. It’s been a tough few months for many recovering and trying to rebuild after Wilma swept through the Keys. Fortunately, we’re here, we’re looking great and we’re optimistic about the future. It’s a rare Buyer’s Market and opportunities abound with many properties priced lower than we’ve seen in years.

The Key West Literary Seminar, founded by David A. Kaufelt will celebrate its 25th anniversary next January - quite a milestone for the organization that continues to present world class literary programming on our little island. The Take Stock in Children scholarship program will graduate 45 seniors this Spring in the Keys, the biggest class ever. These seniors will join 86 Take Stock Scholars who are already in college. Studio Key West: Gabriella Fiabane is the 2006 Studio Key West artist. Ms. Fiabane, a recent honors graduate from FKCC will be artist in residence at the Nantucket Island School of Design and The Arts. Each year Studio Key West, an emerging artists community, sends Key West artists and writers to artist communities throughout the United States. To date this program has supported the residencies of 12 local artists and writers.
